A bus carrying some 40 Israeli tourists, most of them reportedly teenagers, was struck near the airport by a suicide bomber. At least seven Israelis are dead, and another 27 injured.

"This latest attack is another deadly reminder of the true nature of the enemies of Israel -- and of all who value human dignity," AJC Executive Director David Harris said.

"Through our tears and outrage, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the Israelis killed in this heinous bombing, and our wishes and prayers for the full recovery of those injured," Harris added. "We are confident that Bulgaria, one of Israel's closest friends in Europe, will do everything possible to help apprehend anyone connected to this murderous attack, and care for the wounded and traumatized."

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has accused Iran of planning the attack in Bulgaria, which comes on the 18th anniversary of the terror bombing in Buenos Aires that destroyed the AMIA Jewish community center, killing 85. Iran and its terror proxy Hezbollah have been charged with carrying out the AMIA attack. In recent months, they have had foiled attempts to strike at Israeli targets in Azerbaijan, Georgia and elsewhere, while in India an Israeli embassy car was bombed.
